Khaleda zia to be freed Thursday : DIG prisons.....................

Former prime minister and BNP chief Khaleda Zia may be freed anytime on Thursday, said deputy inspector general of prisons Major Shamsul Haider Siddiqui.

"The jail authorities received the documents relating to Khaleda Zia's bail at 6.45pm, and she will be freed anytime tomorrow (Thursday)," Siddiqui said Wednesday night.

Bail bonds for former prime minister Khaleda Zia were submitted by lawyers earlier Wednesday to four separate courts handling the GATCO, Niko, Zia Orphanage Trust and Barapukuria cases.

Khaleda's lawyer Advocate Sanaullah Maih had earlier told the bail bonds of the four graft cases against were submitted and accepted by the courts.

"The courts have informed us that all the papers relating to the bail bonds have been sent to the jail authorities."

He had expressed the hope that the BNP chief would be freed Wednesday.
