|  The government appointed on Thursday Kazi Abu Zafar Mohammed Hasan Siddiqui as director general and KM Harun as deputy director general for programmes of the state-run Bangladesh Television. The two retired officials had been appointed on contractual basis, an information ministry senior official told us. Siddiqui went into retirement in 2001 as the BTV's managing director, while Harun went into voluntary retirement in 2005 as programmes manager. | |
