Janakantha editor Atiqullah Khan Masud, sentenced to over 40 years in separate graft cases, was released on bail at BSMMU Hospital on Tuesday.
He was released from guard at his hospital cabin shortly before 6pm.
The newspaper editor and businessman was arrested on Mar 27 2007 by joint forces.
He was sentenced to 13 years by a special court on April 3 2008 in an illegal wealth case.
He was sentenced the same year to another 28 years in three other graft cases.
